The seventh Twistercup was held again at the model tank of the Hamburg Ship Model Basin (Hamburgische Schiffbau-Versuchsanstalt) HSVA as the traditional Twistercup advent sailing event.

It was a tough competition of seventeen teams battling for the title of Twistercup VII Champion. But one boat dominated in local waters as Hans-Uwe Schnoor of HSVA finished on top of the score board after four qualifying and two final legs. A well-balanced Wärtsilä cupper with Mr. Hagedorn finished second and Mr. Bollensdorf of IBMV came in third.

The defending champion and winner of the previous Twistercup, Mr. Henning Kuhlmann could not attend the race but will be a tough competetor at Twister VIII.
